Background:
Dr. Harris is a native Angelino, but is only recently returned to the area. She is dedicated to keeping individuals as independent, functional, and with as high a quality of life as possible during the aging process. Although she does see patients in the office, her focus is on home visits and caring for those who cannot make it into the clinic. She therefore is familiar with caring for people who have many illnesses at once, and she works with patients and families to help manage these multiple problems, including coordinating their care with other specialists. She also is skilled in the management of Alzheimer's disease and other dementias.
Dr. Harris also heads up the geriatric program, which trains the next generation of doctors to become geriatrics specialists. Her interests include health policy reform, medical education, health literacy, caregiving and caregiver health.
