Background:
Andre Berger, MD, is an assistant professor of urology, at the USC Institute of Urology. Dr. Berger is fellowship trained in advanced robotic and laparoscopic urological surgery. His particular area of expertise is robotic and laparoscopic surgery for prostate cancer, kidney cancer and bladder cancer. Dr. Berger performs robotic athermal nerve-sparing radical prostatectomy for prostate cancer, delivering outstanding potency and continence outcomes. Equally, he brings sophisticated expertise in robotic and laparoscopic surgery for kidney tumors, specifically performing nephron-sparing (kidney-saving) surgery with minimal or no warm ischemia. He also performs robotic radical cystectomy, extended pelvic lymph node dissection and intra-corporeal urinary diversions. Dr. Berger also performs robotic and laparoscopic surgery for benign conditions of the adrenal gland, kidney, ureter-pelvic junction obstruction, urinary bladder and benign prostate hypertrophy. Dr. Berger performs scar-less "belly-button" single-port surgery for various urological conditions. At USC, he is part of a team with the world's largest experience in "belly-button" surgery.
