Background:
Dr. Fong completed his undergraduate degree in Biology at the University of Toronto with high distinction, and his medical degree at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Case Western University. He completed a Fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease at the University of Rochester Medical Center, and also did additional subspecialty training in Heart Failure and Transplantation, and Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging during that time. Dr. Fong then served as Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Program for Heart Failure and Transplantation, and Co-Director of Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging at the University of Rochester before joining the faculty at USC. Dr. Fong's research interests include chemotherapy-induced cardiotoxicity, stress test imaging in heart transplantation, uses and cost of ventricular assist device therapy, outcome measures related to the use of right heart catheterization in heart failure, and severe hypertension.
