Background:

Dr. Best is a nationally recognized expert in the field of urologic trauma. He has multiple peer-reviewed publications and book chapters on this subspecialty. He is a champion of minimally invasive management of acute urethral trauma. He has published impressive results with Immediate Endoscopic Realignment of the traumatic urethral injury. Other ongoing projects include outcomes from management of urethral trauma, fertility status after testicular injury, and the necessity of cystogram following repair of the injured bladder. He has been dedicated to his involvement with the acutely injured patient, surgically, academically and from a teaching standpoint. He carries a joint appointment in both Urology and Surgery.


Dr. Best’s other interest include management or urinary stone disease, and the management of benign prostatic hypertrophy.
