Illnesses affect women differently, therefore their health care should be different as well. Keck Medical Center of USC understands this, which is why a comprehensive women’s health program is offered that caters to the unique needs of our patients.
The difference is noticeable right away. It begins with an initial extensive visit with an internal medicine physician, which allows the physician to address the patient’s specific health care needs, evaluate the patient’s medical history and develop individual preventive care strategies. Along with the standard physical, which includes a pelvic and breast exam, the physician also reviews immunizations, nutrition, home issues, stress, menopause and numerous other women's health issues.
The women’s health program also emphasizes a high level of patient education, which includes giving patients up-to-date literature on specific health issues and helping patients locate various community and hospital resources.
Program faculty and staff are dedicated primarily to women's health, which means they are experts in new developments in medical research related to breast cancer, osteoporosis, heart disease, hormone replacement therapy, and other health topics that are specific to women.
The program is based in the Healthcare Consultation Center II and at The Doctors of USC -Downtown, conveniently located in the Bank of America Plaza at 333 South Hope Street in downtown Los Angeles.
