Family Medicine - Vice Chair

Exciting things are occurring at the Keck School of Medicine of USC and in the Department of Family Medicine. This is an opportunity to join in creating new clinical opportunities for family medicine at the medical school and in the community. The clinical vice chair will be the clinical leader and will oversee all clinical operations for the department.

We are seeking an individual who can manage and develop the clinical operations. Currently the department has a residency program located California Hospital in downtown Los Angeles. That program has received new funding and is expanding from 18 residents to 24 residents. The clinical vice chair would helpexplore opportunities to expand the program in the downtown area.

The department has a small faculty practice located on the medical campus. With the acquisition of Keck Hospital of USC and the integration of all 18 clinical practices, opportunities exist to expand the campus practice and expand to nearby communities such as Pasadena.

The department has a strong commitment to education. Several faculty members serve as associate deans and key academic positions at the medical school. In addition to the department’s strong commitment to medical education, we are the home of the USC Physician Assistant Program, the Pacific AIDS Education and Training Center, and the Center for Health Studies Research.

We are especially looking for an individual who has experience in building clinical operations and has a vision for the role of family medicine in an urban environment. Successful candidates are board certified family physicians who are licensed/eligible for medical licensure in California.

Compensation is competitive with excellent university benefits.
