Zilkha Neurogenetic Institute - Neurodevelopmental Disorders and Autism

The Zilkha Neurogenetic Institute (ZNI) is recruiting a candidate to fill a tenure-track position at the rank of assistant professor. The ZNI is supported by major funding from W.M. Keck Foundation and other significant philanthropic sources. Our mission is to catalyze a major expansion in basic neuroscience research at the Keck School of Medicine (KSOM). We seek an accomplished neuroscientist, Ph.D. and/or M.D., with an outstanding academic record and an innovative basic research program that may include a translational component to take advantage of the large clinical populations with neurodevelopmental disorders and autism in the Los Angeles basis. The candidate should have a strong research plan to investigate mechanisms relevant to neurodevelopmental disorder pathogenesis using modern methodologies in vertebrate genetics and genomics, proteomics, electrophysiology, microscopic imaging, or developmental neuroanatomy and behavior. The successful candidate will receive a generous start-up and relocation package and will become part of an active and growing research community within the ZNI. The successful candidate will have a primary academic appointment in the Dept Cell & Neurobiology of the KSOM. He or she will have the opportunity to participate in the scientific and teaching activities of the department, as well as in USC’s neuroscience graduate program.
